Swedish cloud company Evroc will work with the Swedish Armed Forces to develop a sovereign European cloud platform for Sweden’s next-generation command-and-control systems.

The platform, known as the Swedish Interoperable Combat Cloud (SINCC), is intended to handle sensitive military information under Swedish and European control.

- Information of this sensitivity should reside in infrastructure that we own and control ourselves, Mattias Åström, founder and CEO of Evroc, said in a press release.

- hat is the standard this system sets, and it is also where AI changes everything: a real-time picture of the battlefield, analysed and translated into action at machine speed on infrastructure that Sweden can trust. This is a capability that Europe has needed for a long time.

Founded in 2022 and headquartered in Stockholm, Evroc is developing the European cloud platform focused on digital sovereignty, AI, operational resilience and data storage within Europe.

The platform is aimed at government agencies, defence organisations and operators of critical infrastructure and essential services.

Evroc describes SINCC as a secure national command-and-control platform that will enable Swedish forces to maintain a shared operational picture and improve interoperability with NATO allies.

The company currently operates cloud regions with redundant data centres and AI infrastructure in Stockholm, Paris and Frankfurt, and maintains development teams in Sweden, France and the United Kingdom.

The programme brings together the Swedish Armed Forces, the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Teracom. Evroc will be joined by fellow suppliers Elastisys, Freja and Aityr.
