The Danish Ministry of Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) has signed a new framework agreement for the supply of combat uniforms.
The uniforms are manufactured by Belgian Seyntex in cooperation with US-based Crye Precision. The new system has been designated Combat Uniform M/26.
AdvertisementThe agreement replaces the combat uniform element of the Nordic Combat Uniform (NCU) programme, which has been affected by quality issues. The NCU initiative was intended to deliver a common uniform system across participating nations, but the programme encountered a number of challenges.
- I am pleased to sign this new framework agreement for combat uniforms. With this agreement, we are ensuring that personnel can be issued with new, high-quality uniforms more quickly, while also providing an improved fit for both men and women, said Colonel Thomas Øgendahl Knudsen, head of DALO’s Land Systems Division.
AdvertisementEarlier this year, DALO suspended distribution of the new combat uniform system following reports of quality issues affecting the garments.
The replacement procurement covers lightweight combat uniforms, heavy combat uniforms and combat shirts for personnel across the Danish Armed Forces, the Home Guard and the Danish Emergency Management Agency.
AdvertisementElements of the NCU programme unaffected by the quality concerns will continue to be procured under the existing framework agreement. These include base-layer garments, mid-layer clothing, winter clothing and rainwear, according to DALO.
Seyntex will deliver the new combat uniforms progressively between October 2026 and October 2027, with distribution expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027.
