Acoustic Cameras: A New Technology on the Market
Caltech is introducing a new product to the market: acoustic cameras from Fotric. An acoustic camera uses up to 345 cooperating microphones to visualise sounds that the human ear cannot perceive. The technology is used, among other things, to detect leaks in gas and compressed air systems, partial discharges, and mechanical faults where vibrations or noise can indicate emerging problems.

“This makes troubleshooting faster and more accurate, even in noisy industrial environments,” notes Mats.

Fotric also delivers the market’s only combination camera, where an acoustic camera and an IR camera are integrated into the same unit. This makes it possible to analyse both sound and temperature simultaneously — providing a complete solution for both troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

“In addition, we can also deliver Fotric’s complete range of IR cameras. All cameras are supplied with powerful analysis software for reviewing your measurements. The software is licence-free, so no unexpected extra costs or subscriptions are added.”
