Naval Group has secured a major breakthrough in Sweden after Stockholm selected the French company’s FDI design for its future frigate programme.
The Swedish government has opted to acquire four frigates in a deal estimated at around SEK 40 billion, deepening defence industrial cooperation between France and Sweden.
AdvertisementIn a written statement to Defence Nordic, Naval Group said it is ready to move forward with the programme.
- We are looking forward to working with our Swedish partners to successfully execute this major programme, the company said.
The programme is expected to involve Swedish industry from the outset, with Saab and BAE Systems Bofors set to play significant roles.
