Saab has named CAE, IMP and Magellan Aerospace as its main Canadian industrial partners for a potential purchase of the Gripen E fighter jet. The partnerships cover aircraft structures, composite parts, wiring and final assembly, as well as training and maintenance.

A new cooperation agreement with IMP covers the establishment of a Gripen final assembly line in Canada. IMP would also manufacture wiring and maintain the Canadian Gripen fleet if the country decides to buy the aircraft.
