Boeing's defence earnings boosted by sale of Howard Hughes' old labs

Defence backlog is at a record high even without including next-gen fighter aircraft for US Navy

Q3 earnings are not just up for Boeing's Defense, Space and Security segment. They are way up.

Earnings from operations are at USD 492 million, up from USD 114 million - or 332 percent - in Q3 last year, according to Tuesday's release. Operating margin is at 6.2 percent compared with 1.7 percent last year.
