20 vessels for three allies: Norway splits shipbuilding competition

Norway is preparing two parallel shipbuilding competitions covering up to 20 oceangoing vessels for its own armed forces, the United Kingdom and Lithuania.

The Norwegian Defence Materiel Agency, known by its Norwegian acronym FMA, plans one contract for up to 14 naval vessels and another for up to six Norwegian Coast Guard vessels. As a general rule, the same bidder will not be allowed to win both.
