Nimble EU programme could be just what defence SMEs need

The European Union is rethinking how it funds defence innovation to help bring new technologies to market

On Monday, the Council of the European Union adopted the Programme for Agile and Rapid Defence Innovation (AGILE), designed for "'new defence' players".

The programme has a budget of EUR 115 million and aims to support "mission-driven development of disruptive defence products and technologies, and market delivery by helping defence solutions reach the actual markets", according to a press release.
