Norautron aims for defense

– Norautron is a company that is already experienced in the defense sector. We have capacity, and the capacity will now be doubled with a new 17,000 square meter, state of the art production facility in Norway, says Kenneth Dåstöl, EVP Sales & Marketing.

This means that Nouratron is well exposed in different markets with many different products for customers in the defence market. Now the company wants to reach more customers in that sector.

– Nouratron is a contract manufacturer, we manufacture build to print products and systems that the customer demands, says Kenneth Dåstöl. The new production facility is similar to the previous ones we already have, but of course it is state-of-the-art and the important thing is that it allows us to design production areas for defense customers in a new and even more efficient way.

Do you have many customers in Sweden – and what is the company structure like? 

– Yes, we have customers in Sweden, says Kenneth Dåstöl. The parent company is located in Norway, and there are subsidiaries in Sweden, Poland and the UK. We want to promote all four of these countries when it comes to products for defense purposes. Defense in particular has become a very relevant and important area in an increasingly turbulent world with wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. The need for systems in the defense sector has increased and demand is expected to increase for a long time to come. Norautron has a lot to offer here.

How does your collaboration with customers work? 

– We build everything from circuit boards, assembly of subsystems and finished products. All customers sign contracts with us and during cooperation they get their order fulfilled by us, we manufacture prototypes, get them approved, then we set up series production and scale up production of the approved product, says Kenneth Dåstöl. Norautron's profile is about creating relationships with customers and creating a long-lasting partnership. The goal is to serve customers for a long time. Norautron collaborates closely with its customers, which means that they are not only a supplier of advanced products, they also further develop systems together with the customer. – We actually have customers who have been with us since 1989 when the company was founded, those who have been with us for so long are also some of our largest customers, says Kenneth Dåstöl.

What is the goal for you now that you are creating increased production capacity? 

– Our strategy is to grow faster than the market, our ambition is to take market share while being a good partner to the customers we have, says Kenneth Dåstöl. – There is a tendency in the market that large prime customers need more capacity, and this is why outsourcing their production to Norautron is a good alternative, says Even Engebakken, Business Development Manager. What Norautron produces is of the highest possible quality, from being able to withstand the deep sea to space and everything in between. The company has delivered products that are used down to 6,000 meters deep in the ocean and when it comes to space, the company has delivered products that are now as far away as the planet Mars. 

– We manufacture advanced products and complex systems. We would like to emphasize that Norautron can deliver according to the highest possible technical level and quality standards. We are a service provider that you can count on, says Kenneth Dåstöl and continues: 

– What we do is always of extremely high quality, which is important because our products operate in very demanding environments.

Can you tell us about which trade fairs are relevant for you in the future? 

– There are several large defense trade fairs all over Europe where we will be participating, says Even Engebakken. In November we will also have our own exhibition at Electronica in Munich. – We want to offer our manufacturing and design services from our locations in UK, Poland, Sweden and Norway. All of them are important We are extending our product offering to new and existing clients in the defense area.
