An urgent operational requirement prompted the British air force to request new radar systems for protection against drones.
Saab has now delivered Giraffe 1X to the UK, where the systems will become part of the Royal Air Force’s broader defence against unmanned aerial vehicles.
To be able to deliver the systems quickly, Saab says the company mobilised its global production capacity at short notice, while its British manufacturing and support operations were also used.
