Rheinmetall plans to invest around EUR 270m in its operations in the Kassel region, expanding capacity for military vehicles, logistics, training and drone testing.

The company announced the plans in a press release, while media outlet Bloomberg reported the size of the investment.

Rheinmetall will establish a logistics and technology centre covering more than 30,000 square metres at Kassel Airport in Calden. The facility is scheduled to become operational by the end of 2027 and will support Rheinmetall’s existing Kassel plant, which develops, manufactures and maintains tactical wheeled and tracked vehicles.
