Kongsberg has secured a contract worth approximately NOK 2.7 billion for the delivery of additional Joint Strike Missiles (JSM) to the US Air Force.

The company said deliveries are scheduled to be completed by the end of 2029.

The JSM is a fifth-generation, stealthy air-to-surface missile designed for internal carriage within the F-35A weapons bay, preserving the aircraft's low-observable characteristics. The missile has been selected by Japan, Norway, Australia, Germany and the United States.

The contract follows another recent win for Kongsberg in the naval sector. The Norwegian company has signed an agreement with Spain's Navantia covering support, maintenance, modification and modernisation work for the Royal Norwegian Navy's Fridtjof Nansen-class frigates.

Under the arrangement, Kongsberg will act as prime contractor for work on the four vessels, while Navantia will provide design, engineering and platform support as the frigates' original designer, integrator and builder.
