Saab has received an order from Lithuania for Carl-Gustaf M4 weapon systems and associated training equipment valued at SEK 460 million.
Deliveries are scheduled between 2026 and 2029 under a newly signed ten-year framework agreement between the Swedish defence company and Lithuania.
AdvertisementThe agreement also includes options that could raise the total contract value to SEK 640 million over the contract period. Alongside the recoilless rifle systems, the order covers sub-calibre adapters for training ammunition and Carl-Gustaf Outdoor Trainers used for simulation and combat training.
AdvertisementThe contract also includes cooperation with the Lithuanian defence industry in line with national regulations. Saab has not specified which local companies may be involved, but industrial partnerships and offset-related activities have become increasingly important in Baltic defence procurement programmes.
AdvertisementLithuania has increased defence investment significantly in recent years in response to the deteriorating security environment in the Baltic region and Nato’s reinforced eastern posture.
The country has also expanded cooperation with Nordic defence suppliers across land systems, air defence and ammunition procurement.
