MyDefence enters Australian C-UAS evaluation

MyDefence has been awarded a Counter Small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (C-UAS) contract by the Australian Department of Defence.

The contract, awarded in partnership with HighCom Limited and its subsidiary HighCom Technology, is valued at DKK 45 million and forms part of an evaluation programme within the Australian Defence Force, the company said.

- Drones are fundamentally changing modern warfare, as seen in Ukraine and the Middle East, where control of the airspace is increasingly contested. Armed forces are adapting rapidly, and counter-UAS capabilities have become mission-critical, said Dan Hermansen, chief executive of MyDefence, in a press release.

The agreement marks a step forward in the rollout of operational counter-drone capabilities in Australia and represents an entry point into this market for MyDefence.

Under the agreement, MyDefence will deliver advanced C-UAS technology, while HighCom Technology will be responsible for delivery and support.

The contract reinforces MyDefence’s strategic focus on Australia and the wider Indo-Pacific region. The company aims to strengthen its local presence through closer cooperation with HighCom and end users, while building local support capacity in line with the operational requirements of the Australian Defence Force and regional partners.

Australia represents a strategically important market for MyDefence, with long-term potential driven by defence modernisation and the rapid evolution of drone-based threats. The programme also contributes to developing Australian industrial capacity and creating specialised jobs in the sector.

Headquartered in Nørresundby, Denmark, MyDefence develops counter-drone technology based on advanced radio frequency expertise.

Its systems enable early and reliable detection of drone threats under operational conditions and are used by defence and security customers globally.

Delivery of systems to the Australian Department of Defence is expected to be completed by the end of June 2026.
