The Denmark-based defence company Integris Composites is set to gain a new and stronger owner in the private equity firm Triton Partners.

- It is a well-capitalised fund, and I see significant potential for them to develop the business together with us, said Helle Specht, managing director of Integris in Denmark.

Integris Composites develops and manufactures lightweight composite armour for, among other applications, armoured vehicles, helicopters, cars, ships and personal protection.

- There are not many in the world who can produce what we make, said Helle Specht.

Integris Composites is an international company headquartered in Amsterdam, with production facilities in Denmark, France and the United States. It employs 370 people globally, including 100 in Vissenbjerg on Funen.

The company exports its armour products to 50 countries worldwide.

From one private equity owner to another

The transaction involves a sale from one private equity firm to another, namely from Agilitas Private Equity to Triton Partners.

- There is always a cycle within private equity ownership. It is always more exciting to be at the beginning of an ownership period. The new private equity firm has experience in the defence industry, which I believe we can benefit from, said Helle Specht.

- I believe the new owner can provide the capital needed to move forward and realise our development plans. The defence industry is in a different place than it was five years ago, when we last changed ownership, she added.

She emphasised that the transaction has not yet been fully completed.

- As we are a defence company, the transaction must be approved in all the countries where we operate, she said.

As a result, no immediate changes will take place at the company’s site in Vissenbjerg.

- However, I expect that we will expand and grow going forward with the new owners, said Helle Specht.
