Patria has delivered the first five CAVS 6x6 armoured vehicles to the Bundeswehr.

The handover took place in Zeithain, Germany, last week, the Finnish company said on Monday.

The deliveries form part of two procurement contracts signed in December 2025 between Patria and Germany under the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System programme.

Jussi Järvinen, executive vice-president of Patria’s protected mobility business area, said the initial deliveries to Germany mark a milestone for both the company and the wider programme.

- These vehicles mark the start of Germany’s transition to a modern, highly mobile protected mobility fleet and demonstrate the effectiveness of the CAVS cooperation framework, he said.

- As Germany moves into full-scale production, we and our German industry partners FFG, JWT and KNDS will ensure security of supply and deliver the required vehicles and capabilities to the Bundeswehr, Järvinen added.

The Finnish-led CAVS programme comprises seven member nations: Finland, Latvia, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom and Norway. The vehicles are also in operational use in Ukraine.

Patria has received orders, including options, for nearly 2,000 Patria 6x6 vehicles and has delivered more than 300 to date.
