The Norwegian technology group Kongsberg reported double-digit growth across all business areas in 2025, driven by what the company described as unprecedented demand.
- I have not, in my ten years as CEO or in more than 30 years with the Group, experienced such demand, said Geir Håøy, president and chief executive, in a statement.

Kongsberg is organised into four business areas: Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace, Kongsberg Maritime, Kongsberg Discovery and Kongsberg Digital, supported by additional activities.
AdvertisementIn the fourth quarter, the Group, including Kongsberg Maritime, recorded revenue growth of 21 per cent compared with the same period in 2024. The annual report is due to be published on 23 March.
Profitability increased as a result of a favourable project mix and high volumes in Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. At year-end, the Group’s total order backlog stood at NOK 157 billion.
Of this, NOK 130 billion will remain with Kongsberg going forward, with the remainder attributable to Kongsberg Maritime.

- On the one hand, this provides security in terms of the volume of future assignments. On the other, it represents a major commitment we have undertaken. That makes me both proud and humble, he said.
Kongsberg said it was experiencing strong demand for its solutions amid significant global change, providing a robust foundation for the company’s continued development.
AdvertisementIn January, the general assembly formally approved a demerger that will see Kongsberg Maritime established as a separate company, to be listed on Euronext Oslo Børs in April 2026.
-The results, order backlog and market positions at the end of 2025 provide a solid foundation for the two soon-to-be independent listed companies, Håøy said.
